Hi Larry! I didn't know you wrote this blog : ) This is my favorite part of this post

...a “sign” I could give them that would signify that my patience was just about at its end.

How true! I think kids really appreciate it when we are honest about what's really going on :D

I used to tell my 4/5 grades I did not use taking away recess time as a "consequence" because I hadn't done anything wrong, why should I lose my recess too? They always liked that one : ).

I agree that this is a great list! Some really positive changes to make. I particularly like not writing names on the board and calling home after a week. Thanks!

I admire you for your commitment to a positive classroom and to transparent, reflective blogging. Thanks and keep up the good work. You and Mathew were a great one-two punch on classroom management strategies tonight.

Great blog! I'd been searching around seeing who else was out there providing solid info for teachers, and your's popped up in my Google Alerts. I now plan on being a loyal reader and look forward to your posts.

I very much enjoyed your list of actions, especially as they pertain to getting students to take ownership of their actions as well as encouraging goal setting and evaluating.

Solid stuff here. I'll be posting a link on my own blog. Keep up the great work!
